The New Chevy Trax Continues To Find New Fans
The Chevy Trax has been an absolute hit for customers. It isn’t just another crossover on the market. Instead, it is the crossover that gives buyers small car affordability and SUV-like abilities and size. Since it was redesigned for 2024, the Trax has been named to Car and Driver’s 10Best list, was given the Favorite Affordable Vehicle award by the Midwest Automotive Media Association, and was crowned as the Best Car of 2024 by Cars.com. You don’t get that kind of treatment unless you really do have one of the best vehicles on the market.
Another Review, Even More Praise
A recent review by SlashGear sees the 2025 Trax named as an Editor’s Choice, saying that the Chevy gives customers a great value crossover that is in the sweet spot of the price range. With a 1.2-liter inline-3 engine producing 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, the Trax achieves an EPA-estimated 28 mpg city and 32 mpg on the highway run. Coupled with a starting price of only $21,495, the little Chevrolet checks a lot of boxes for drivers who need stylish transportation that isn’t hiding any flaws.
A Major Value Over the Competition
The journalist reviewing the Trax, Chris Davies, spoke about the value proposition. While the Trax is front-wheel drive only, it also helps keep costs down when compared to the competition: “At the entry-level, the Trax is hard to beat. Toyota's Corolla Cross has a bigger engine, but starts at $23,860 for the 2024 model; you can have all-wheel drive, but then you're at $26,510. Honda's HR-V is more expensive still, starting at $25,100 for FWD or $26,600 for AWD …”
The Trax Never Feels Cheap
Sadly, too many cars have a nice price tag but just don’t feel welcoming inside because of the cost-cutting materials used. However, this is not the case with the frugal Trax. As SlashGear said, “Instead, the Trax straddles a compelling line between feeling affordable without feeling cheap, something that's often easier said than done in the auto world. There are more capable SUVs out there, undoubtedly, and more powerful ones, but as an all-round package for someone wanting a new car without straying over $25k, the 2025 Trax fits the bill nicely.”
Safety Comes First
All Trax models feature Chevy Safety Assist as standard, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Intellibeam Auto High Beam Assist. Cruise control is standard across the range, and Adaptive Cruise Control is an available option on certain trim levels.
