2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten Is the S Class of Trucks

Pickup trucks are the new muscle cars of the ‘60s and are taking over for modern luxury cars. Instead of a big sedan that propels you down the road, now people are buying trucks that do that, like the new 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten. In a recent review for Motor Authority, author Joel Feder said, “… the Ram 1500 Tungsten feels like the Mercedes S-Class of trucks.” That’s very high praise.

An All-New Engine with True High Performance

The all-new Ram 1500 Tungsten gives buyers the all-new 3.0-liter Hurricane High Output (H/O) Straight-Six Turbo (SST), which produces 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque that propels the truck from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and through the ¼-mile in 13 seconds at 104.7 mph. This makes the Ram Tungsten faster than some modern sports cars, like the Nissan Z and Toyota GR Corolla.

Interior Style That Takes It Up a Notch

Where modern trucks can really convince customers to buy a pickup over a luxury car is in the interior. The Tungsten features leather everything, it seems, plus a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 10.3-inch passenger screen. As Feder said when getting into the Ram, “Open the door to Ram 1500 Tungsten and it’s hard to believe this is a pickup truck. Most of the cabin’s covered in thick leather or soft-touch materials. The door uppers, seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and even the grab handles all feature beautiful accent stitching. GM, Ford, and Toyota should be taking notes.”

A Powerful Sound System

Tungsten models can also be optioned with a 23-speaker Klipsch premium audio system that has 1,375 watts and 24 channels. Feder said it was the best sound system he’s ever heard in a truck. It also features speakers in the front seatbacks.

The Best Suspension Bar None

One place where the Ram has stood apart from modern pickups is in the suspension department. It was rather interesting when Ram started doing independent rear suspension (IRS) on their trucks beginning in 2009, which was a radical departure from the decades of using leaf springs. Because of the IRS, Ram trucks have been able to show off a more luxurious and controlled ride for a daily driven vehicle. Now, Ram has stepped up their game with an air suspension system that will have you feeling like you are riding on a private jet in the sky. Joel Feder highlighted this in his review, saying: “Like a luxury vehicle, the Tungsten’s standard four-corner air suspension can lower when the truck’s put into park, and that makes getting in and out easier, even with the automatically deploying side steps. That air suspension can also self-level the truck, which means unlike an F-150, the Ram isn’t oversprung in the rear to compensate for heavy loads. This means the truck doesn’t sit with a rake (the front end lower than the rear like an F-150), and it rides better thanks to still having coil rear springs rather than leaf springs.”

Level 2 Hands-Free Driving for Long-Distance Driving

The 2025 Ram 1500 is also the most recent vehicle in the Stellantis lineup to feature their new Hands-Free Active Driver Assist System. This system allows drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel and will handle steering, acceleration, and braking on certain roads. This is certainly helpful on long drives, especially if you are driving for work or with your family. Being able to relax while cruising down the highway can definitely help drivers not be exhausted.
