2025 GMC Terrain Teaser
The new, next-generation 2025 GMC Terrain is here and ready to take to the roads of America to give buyers yet another brilliant GMC SUV that’s not just a fancy face with nothing to shout about underneath. The updated styling brings the Terrain in line with other new GMC models, and new standard equipment and safety features keep the Terrain one of the best two-row SUVs on the market. The Elevation trim will debut at Krusen Chevy GMC later this year, with the 2026 AT4 and Denali arriving later in 2025.
Trim Levels
There will be three trim levels available: the base Elevation, which takes over for the SLE and SLT trims, the off-road-ready AT4, and the top-of-the-line, ultra-luxurious Denali. The Elevation will come standard with 17-inch wheels but is available with 19-inch wheels when selecting the Premium Package or the Black Edition. Buyers can also spec a black or gray roof for the first time on a Terrain.
The Latest Special Tech Features
This latest generation brings new available special technology, such as a 5G WiFi hot spot, HD Surround Vision camera, rain-sensing wipers, heated wiper, and an AutoSense power liftgate that opens when you stand near the rear hatch with the key fob, and a rear camera mirror. Like the 2025 Acadia, the Terrain also gets a standard Google Assistant with an all-new infotainment system. With the assistant, you can reply to text messages, use Google Maps to get directions and control various in-vehicle functions.
A Word From GMC
“The 2025 GMC Terrain builds on GMC’s strengths and offers our latest premium technology and safety features, while bringing a fresh, bold design to our two-row SUV,” said Duncan Aldred, Global Vice President, Buick and GMC. “With the next-gen Terrain and updated 2025 Yukon both slated to launch later this year, the entire GMC SUV lineup will be refreshed by year end, giving customers the latest design, the best technology and the best driving experience we’ve ever offered in our SUVs.”
Engine, Transmissions, And Towing
The standard engine on all front-wheel drive models is a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 175 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, while all-wheel drive models have the same engine that produces 203 lb-ft of torque. The Elevation trim will arrive with all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard at launch this year. All models will be able to tow up to 1,500 lbs when properly equipped. Standard FWD models will feature a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
AT4 Trim Level Features
The new AT4 and Denali trim levels will debut for the 2026 model year. The AT4 will arrive with Terrain Mode, which will feature selectable modes that are exclusive to the AT4, a higher ride height, a metal protective shield for the undercarriage, animated headlights and taillights, red front tow hooks, 17-inch all-terrain tires, and AWD with Hill Descent Control.
Cargo Capacity
All models offer 29.8 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the rear seats, which grows to 63.5 cu.ft. when the rear seats are folded, giving buyers plenty of space for their family and all their belongings.
Denali Trim Level Features
As the highest luxury trim on all GMC models, the Terrain Denali will give buyers the most advanced features and comfort of all Terrain models. This includes front and rear heated seats, animated headlights and taillights like the Terrain, standard 19-inch wheels with 20-inch wheels optional, Smart Frequency dampers for extra ride comfort, AWD, and Hill Descent Control.
