2025 Equinox EV Offering More Features For The Same Price
The first-ever Chevy Equinox EV is wowing customers with even more for no extra cost for 2025. The current 2024 model has been widely praised by journalists and customers alike for its attractiveness, good range, usable size, and, of course, features. For next year, some of the trim levels have been changed around a little bit, and some of the features have become standard on various trims. The Equinox EV also still qualifies for the full $7,500 federal tax credit.
New Trim Levels And Packages
In the previous model year, the Equinox EV started with 1LT and moved up from there, followed by 2RS and up from there. For 2025, that changes to:
LT
LT with Comfort and Active Safety 2 Package
LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience I Package
LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience II Package
RS
RS with Convenience II Package
The base LT trim has 19-inch wheels, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster display, and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google Built-In.
Confusing At First, Makes More Sense Later
While that may seem confusing, it will get easier for sales associates and buyers because instead of having to know the standard and optional features between, say, a 1LT and a 3LT, the features are actually in the name. The top-of-the-line LT and RS trims are $1,100 more than the 2024 models. However, they now come standard with a head-up display and rearview camera mirror, which uses the rear-mounted backup camera and displays that image on the rearview mirror. This is especially handy if you have a full vehicle of cargo or people and are unable to see out the back as you normally would.
Standard Safety Is Abundant
No matter what trim level you choose for your 2025 Equinox EV, the amount of standard safety equipment is staggering. This includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure steering assist, blind spot steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, rear parking sensors, a distance indicator when you are following vehicles, and safety alert seat.
New Year, New Me
The 2025 Equinox EV also gets a bit of a boost in power, too, with the standard front-wheel drive trims getting 220 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque, a gain of seven horsepower and nine torque. All-wheel drive models now have 300 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque, a jump of 12 horsepower and 22 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet says FWD models can drive 319 miles on a single charge, while AWD models can go 285 miles. Thanks to its ability to charge at 150 kW, the Equinox EV can add 77 miles of range in just 10 minutes on a Level 3 DC Fast charger. To put that into perspective, a person's average daily mileage is 40 miles. So, in 10 minutes, you can almost double that if you are in a hurry.
